Reformat

Go to solution Solved by b1ack1otus,

Well, this thread can be closed.

I do it when I feel like it needs a reformat, which is usually once per year. I'm going to format it soon in order to change it to windows 8.1.

Do you not get tired of reinstalling all the software again?? especially if you made some changes to it ... like the settings and stuff :o

I know I do.

I really like the feeling of a formatted PC, I don't even save the settings so I know exactly how everything is set up.

I'm trying to upgrade it to win 8 then to 8.1 but it had some problems. I'm going to try to reinstall win 7 first then upgrade haha when I get home.

I don't have the DVD for win 8.1. And the reason i'm upgrading was so that I did not have to reinstall the programs

Put it on your USB? And how are you not going to reinstall programs if you're reinstalling windows 7?

And does anyone even recommend to upgrade windows from one OS to the other instead of just reformatting?

When you upgrade, there's an option where it saves all of your installed programs. And by doing that, it's the same thing as a clean install, but when you're done ... it will have a windows.old folder which you can easily delete after.

Update: I ended up doing a clean install of win 7 and upgraded to win 8 then to 8.1 :D haha
