Raid 0

Just got finished spending 1500 on a new pc i got 2 hard drives one is 3tb ones 2 can i put these in raid 0? and what is the amount of storage does it just add or will i get 4tb essentialy removing the extra tb from my 1st drive

you would get only 4tb however i do not suggest this as if one drive dies bye bye data

ive keep this in mind but i trust the drives and honestly i am planning on getting ssd's sometime after august and im fairly sure they last that long ones brand new i bought it last night one is only like 3 months old and has only been used lightly i know its not reliable but i dont keep much on my pc i export most my data to my personal server

You'd only get a total of 4TB of storage, and that's a waste of 1TB from the 3TB drive.

also is they're a hybrid of raid 1 and raid 0 with better performance but more resistance

alright thats what i figured and am i better using my motherboards built in raid or a super cheap raid card i dont know how long it has been in operation its from a older server my uncle owned and i grabbed it when he replaced his he said it still work and the works i just dont know much on how to use it and if i would better not using it

I'd just use the built-in motherboard features. Why do you need RAID anyway? You'll lose 1/3 of one of the drives! What a waste!

the speed on the hard drives is terrible i may not even go though with it is there a way to add the drives spaces so instead of taking 2 drive letters it all shows up in the C:/ as 5tb thats one of the reasons i want raid

AFAIK, RAID is the only way. Please quote me when responding. You should probably just use two drives (with separate letters). And if the speed isn't good, that's not a good sign if you just got one of them new.

It's not bad. You would have plenty of space on the 2TB drive for an OS and programs and such, while all your games and multimedia could go onto the 3TB disk.
