Hi everyone,

My dad works in the video industry and is really obsessed with VR. So he gave me the task to make him a VR pc. He wants a good PC with the best VR components. Budget is around 2.000 euro (for PC only) more is fine :D

I think it's really nice if the CPU and GPU are custom water cooled.

We live in the Netherlands so German pcpartpicker is fine.

Thanks!

My own build: RΛZΞR theme

You mean he will only play games and watch videos or he will work on it? (making his own VR things)

If that is the case both :D

If he will be compiling software then the ryzen 1700 will be a winner. Spend the rest of money on a 1080ti. I just saw that is what the above post did. The rest like storage and ram, get what you can get and you can upgrade those later. Let us know how well the stock AMD cooler performs

Thanks for your reaction! Do you mean the Ryzen 1700x will have a stock cooler? It's a overclocked CPU so I think it needs a aftermarket cooler. Or are you talking about the ryzen 1700? If so the ryzen 1700x is only 15 euro's more expensive so I say worth it ;)

And another question: If custom water cooling is no option which 1080 TI should I get? Now there are only founders editions on the market but will this change?

the 1700 will have a stock cooler but the 1700x doesn't. if you wanna save money, you can try getting a 1700 and overclock it to 3.6ghz or more, where it should perform about the same as the 1800x.

I meant the 1700. There is a difference between the x but I don't think the software will show it for a while. For this first gen the 1700 looks like the best deal as it comes with a decent cooler. Maybe next year's Zen will be better as the software catches up.
