Make a mini itx build or get a laptop?

Naynners

I was wondering if I should actually build a mini itx pc or just go with a laptop. I just primarily need it for photo editing and maybe even a little video editing.

The price I am looking for is probably under $750-$800.

Thanks!

A tower will always give you a better price to performance ration than a laptop. If that makes a big difference for you.

I love the look of mitx pc's, but it is much less convenient than a laptop. If you are on the go a lot, then snag that laptop, if you are mostly at home, with some light traveling, then go for an mitx pc, it will most likely have more power for cheaper

Then you would be better off getting a mATX pc. Nearly as small and at a much better price point. There is a premium for ITX boards and cases

Hmm. Well with a itx build you still have to carry it around + monitor and peripherals, so if you ever travel somewhere far via plane for example, you would need to pay for shipping etc. With a laptop everythings included yet it has worse price to performance (by a lot) compared to a PC

I would agree that if you don't need a laptop for school or traveling a lot then you should get a Micro ATX, there are some really good cases such as the Fractal Design Nano that are small and look great

hey go with a mini itx build because if u buy second hand parts it will be so much

u know scrape yard stile and u can save some money to get your prefils and keybord and mouse

plus u can get fold up monters for cheep and that would eb good because u can just throw it in your bag

Yeah that makes sense, I'll probably just find some cheap laptop later on since photo editing doesn't take that much power.

Looking around I realized that the premium for non-Z itx boards isnt that large, with cases coming in around $50 which isnt too bad either. mATX is still cheaper but not by as much as I remember.
