I have 2 sets of headphones, one that I prefer to use for gaming and the other is more of my daily driver. If I want to switch between them, I have to go to my control panel > Hardware and sound> Sound > etc, and set my default device for whatever headset I want to use at the time. My question was whether or not I can maybe program a button (F6 for example) and be able to switch between both headsets.

My keyboard is a Corsair Strafe so I run on the Corsair Utility Engine as far as Macros or anything like that goes.

Also to clear anything else up one of the headphones is wireless so it isn't just a matter of being able to unplug one so it defaults to the other.

If anyone has any idea how to do this I would really appreciate the help, thank you in advance!

You can go to your toolbar and right click on sound to go to your playback device, it require less steps than you currently stated. Another option is if you more than one monitor you can keep the dialog open or from what i remember there is rainmeter addon you can have which allow you switch but not sure if it still works.

Unfortunately, no. Lack of audio jacks has me running the wireless headset through a Digital Audio Optical Cable

Do you understand what an splitter is? 1 side of the splitter goes in your computer, and it turns it into at least 2 new ports, which both have the exact same output.

My bad, I should've stated that I prefer the Digital Audio Optical Cable over using a 3.5mm jack anyway. Could be a solution though if I need it to be...

However that's still more of a last resort. I'd prefer to have a keybinding to switch them, I'm just gonna assume that it's not really a thing though.

It must be possible to do what you want. But I am not up-to-date on this kind of scripts/functions in windows. If I really had to do this, I would take a 3rd party program like JitBit Macro Recorder, and record/create a script that does what you want. (on screen) That script can then be bound to a hotkey or almost any key combination. But it's alot of work for a simple manual task.

My thoughts exactly. I might just have to suck it up
