EDIT: Mention 1700 vs 7700 gaming i dare you. He said future games, more cores is better future proofing and ryzen smt isn't really supported yet. Or be a an intel sheep and let them stall innovation further.

member when games were single core? Oh yeah I member

I understand but you are paying almost 200-300 more just to get future proof while having minimal increase in performance for games

He asked for future-proof - I addressed it as fully as possible at present without a huge price hike. Maybe he might want to do anything other than gaming? The Ryzen will benefit him here.

Then he better of with a 1070 or Fury X instead.

 Yes of course to be best possible he should have dual 1080Tis in SLI. I upgraded the CPU more so than the GPU because GPUs tend to be replaced 1st whereas a CPU can stay for 5+ years which to be honest is longer than the usefulness of a quad core (as games move on)

 so all of these part are compatible when I add the 480 8gb?

I'm not him but yes if you are changing 7xxx series intel with 7xxx series intel then the same motherboard will be fine. As will the 8GB 480.

@deXxterlab97

with the current build for my gaming computer could you estimate the amount of fps in gta v, bf1 and overwatch on a wide resolution and ultra/high texture. If I would drop the i7 and buy a i5 6500 what would my fps look like in those games?

I'd keep an i7, BF1 likes to use a lot of cpu
