Looking at building my first gaming pc soon, if you couldnt tell I was going to use this for gaming. Mostly fps games like battlefield, bioshock infinite, farcry3/blood dragon, Arma/DayZ. But keep in mind that I'm a gamer and will probably play other games like mmos, and rpgs, and maybe some mobas. I have been picking out some possible parts on PCPartPicker and this is what I have come up with. If you had any recommendations or additions to this part list it would be greatly appreciated.

Specs

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670k

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1866MHz

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB

HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280x or Nvidia GTX 770

Case: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2

PSU: Fractal Design Newton R3 600W 80 PLUS Platinum

Monitor: BenQ RL2455HM 1080p 60Hz 24"

Case Fans: Noctua NF-F12 x2 (would put these on the H100i)

on PCPartPicker I got this build at around $1600 CAD. Also would help if you guys could help me choose which type of aftermarket cooler I should get for the GPU, Like Asus DCUii, MSI TF4, Galaxy Windforce, etc, and which GPU i should get, Greenteam or Redteam? I already have peripherals.

I would cut back on the motherboard and dump it into the GPU. Also, swap out the PSU for any of the M12ii based 650W ones. The RAM is faster than it has to be, but that can stay or go.

You had too much RAM, an overpriced HDD and well, that's about it. Do this, but wait for non-Ref cards.

A model of a PSU from Seasonic. Highly reliable with amazingly low ripple that's 80+ Bronze and a hella lot cheaper than your Platinum PSU, which you really don't need. If I remember right, the XFX Cores, TX*50V2s and Hale82s are all M12ii based.
