Identifying old AMD CPU

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

Yea, thats the  Phenom X4 9650, a 2008 chip. I think the 2006 is the AMD registered trademark info.. not the chip production date.

I feel like an idiot not being able to find anything that makes sense. All I have is the CPU itself, no software so all I can do is look at the numbers on top of it.

This is it:

HD9560WCJ4BGH

JAAPB AA 0923DP1W

9296915F90668

AMD 2006

So what I found is basically this CPU:

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Phenom X4 9650 - HD9650WCJ4BGH (HD9650WCGHBOX).html

What doesn't make sense however is the fact that it seems to be:

Introduction date Mar 27, 2008

Which doesn't add up, it says 2006 on the CPU itself.

Any ideas?

JAAPB AA  is the stepping code for a processor family

you must have a typo in the model number ( 0923DP1W )

http://www.cpu-world.com/step_codes/J/JAAPB AA.html

even in the example shown in my link the release date for that specific prozessor is 2008 and the cpu heatsink says 2006
