What happened to old school tweaking?  When I started back in 04 it was a budget AMD system and the sky was the limit.  I could set the multiplier and see where the FSB went from that, ontop of that I could change individual timing's on the memory and get custom clock's regardless of total speed.  Back then any one memory timing change could show a world of improvement in simple OS operation.  These day's it seams XMP or bust, if your hardware isn't preset to something it isn't going to work.  A year ago I attempted to get back into it, previously had gone for mild OC and was done with it.  But I built an X99 system and basically if it's not "OEM OC" it's not happy.  Maybe there are just to many settings to get a hold of, or maybe thing's have changed.  I guess I'll just have to be happy with the day's when a $600 second from leading edge build could break platform records due to simple determination and constant stressing.

Audio go Brrrrrr
