What sized rad?

dwpdwp

Looking for liquid, need some information.

What size rad (minimum and optimum) should I get to cool a i5 3570K running at about 4.5+ and a GTX780 maxed out?

Anyone done this themselves?

Assuming average rad performance and average fan performance here btw.

surely there comes a point when more rad area has diminishing returns?

How do I calculate this?

a single 360x 60 or 2x 240x 60 will handle your specs, but a caveat would be the

fans speed on a loose fin-per-inch will be kinda loud.  about 1600-1800rpm to keep

it in an acceptable range of 70°-75° on CPU and 45°-55° on GPU, depending on

your clocking skills and chip tolerances for the 360x 60. the 2x 240x 60 should be

able to have a 1000-1400rpm fan speed range..

There is a basic rule.

Calculate the total power consumption of your system.

Now, 120ish Rad = 200 Watt, 140ish Rad = 250 Watt.

Equal both your consumption and your "rad power".

This should keep your system cool enough :D
