YouTube 'Theatre Mode' not very large on 1440p monitor

Go to solution Solved by rattacko123,

I use a combination of youtube plus (to resize the player) + magic actions (dark theme). Seems to work very well with little lag compared to using scripts on tamper monkey or greasemonkey.

You can also use youtube center development build but it is very buggy at the moment.

I recently get a 1440p monitor to add to my current 1080p and 1050p monitors, and noticed that when I'm watching YouTube, Theatre Mode isn't very large, it's about the same size if not smaller than the normal view.

Anyone know of a solution to this other than zooming in? (I don't want everything else on the page to be larger, just the video, and I don't want to watch in fullscreen)

On the subject of 1440p, it seems the Windows 8.1 Snipping Tool refuses to make rectangular snips when I select more than around 75-80% of my 1440p monitor, it'll just go back to how it is when you start the program up where you have to tell it if you want to take a snip.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

Get Chrome extension "AoT" ( always on top) and use that to watch youtube vids. Resize window as you see fit.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Fully maxed out early 2017 Dell XPS 15, GTX 1050 4GB, 7700HQ, 1TB nvme SSD, 32GB RAM, 4k display. 97Whr battery :x
Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

I have the same problem, just use print screen instead and paste into microsoft paint. Note that if you have 2 or more screens you may capture more than you bargained for xD
