The FE cards use blower coolers, which are very loud when ramped up, and they don't cool the GPU very efficiently.

The aesthetic of the FE cards might also be a turnoff to some. I know it is for me, as I enjoy dark themed parts in builds. A big silver shroud kind of disturbs that theme.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

Whats the difference between FE cards and some board partner cards such as msi and so on ? Is there a big difference between those graphics cards ? Ive heard that FE cards have really bad cooling, is that true ? Do they cost more ?

FE is always more expensive than others cards from EVGA, MSI, etc...

For example, when the GTX1080 came out, I bought the FE at $699.99, the EVGA's model cost $649.99.

Another thing is that EVGA, MSI, etc.. they add more base clock and boost clock but, just a few, you will sea 3-5 FPS of difference. You can OC any GPU and get more FPS, no matter what GPU you have now days.

FE has a purpose to exists, Mini ITX gaming PC where a big GPU like the GTX1080 FTW or the MSI GAMING X doesn't fit. If you have an older pre-assembled Dell desktop, etc..

If you have a great case with fans at the front, you are good to go with those bigger GPUs.

and yeah, the fan of the FE sucks but, the max load temperature is good and normal for the FE, it won't damage the GPU, it was designed with that in mind and but again, due to its high temperatures, you don't have enough room for overclock the GPU.

finally, choose whatever you like and what your money can afford.

I will wait for the EVGA FTW3 GTX1080Ti, it's amazing!.

I see it possibly costing $759 before tax. I live in the US, so your price might vary.

Not sure how I feel about the huge letter font. Looks kind of silly compared to the neat lettering on the regular 1080/1070 FTW.
