question about modding a power button

i am going to custom build a sff case and will use this as power button

will it work ? and do i need to supply my own wires to connect it to the header (asked the seller but he doesn't know) if so can i use something like these wires after removing the button ? (already have some in hand)

yeah it will work, power button is just shorting 2 pins, nothing special

and no you don't need your own wires

i mean will it come with it own wires to connect to the motherboard header since there is no wires in the photo

what do you mean there are no wires in the photo?

the one you linked definitely has the  headers and wires

ooo i was looking at the bottom link, yeah you can just solder the power button to the wires on the other switch

follow the instructions on this video, but instead of using sata power cables, connect the two wires coming off the power switch header

Yes, as long as they work as button do, they will work. The power button is just an element to close the circuit so the power can run. And obviously you have to wire it from each 1 pin to the + power pin and 1 pin to the - power pin (It doesnt matter which pin you connect with each pin, you only have to close the circuit!).

"Momentary push button" is exactly what you need. Other specs shouldn't matter as I cant think of a momentary button that would not work. I can see on ebay some listings are using the word "tactile" which appears to be the same as momentary, just avoid "latching" switches.

yep those will work. I cant see anything wrong with your plan.

 

TLDR: as long as you dont try putting your "oldnick" into it, it will be fine
