I'm looking for a CPU under $200 that can support vr. I don't care if it's Intel or amd (yes amd does make processors that support vr https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2016/02/10/these-are-the-cpus-amd-suggests-for-building-vr-ready-pcs-including-2-unreleased-ones/#5971543b3d3f ).

I would suggest going to the used PC market like the reddit hardwareswap forum and talking somebody down to $200 for either a xoen 1231 v3 or an i7-4790K for $200. You can also pick up a mobo and soem DDR3 while you are there for under $350.

Nah I don't trust used parts but thx

I gotta side with used part man, if on a budget and you have some skills, a Xeon and a last generation motherboard is a serious contender.  Not saying buy the major components from craigslist or something Xeon is usually sold on Ebay from reputable reseller of server stuff, as they part out servers.

Motherboard can get from Trading forums on various websites OCN, etc.

Else getting a low tier i5 is about your only option.

My parents would never let me get used parts especially ones without a warranty.
