1 laptops worth of time might be 2 or 3 years. And upgrading every few months is retarded. What is 1 laptop worth of time to you?

Whenever someone in my family replaces theirs xD. I've been sponging off my family my entire life for old laptops and PCs. I only find it worth it to buy expensive PC parts and not laptops because of my limited use of them. Occasionally I'll get something off eBay for an experiment or something.

So your looking for a Mac Laptop which can run OS Sierra for $160?

So you have these choices:

MacBook and MacBook Retina: Late 2009 or newer.

MacBook Pro: Mid 2010 or newer.

MacBook Air: Late 2010 or newer.

By the looks the Late 2009 Macbook will be the only machine you'll be able to afford at $160.

Main Machine:  16 inch MacBook Pro (2021), Apple M1 Pro (10 CPU, 16 GPU Core), 512GB SDD, 16GB RAM

Gaming Machine:  Acer Nitro 5, Core i7 10750H, RTX 3060 (L) 6GB, 1TB SSD (Boot), 2TB SSD (Storage), 32GB DDR4 RAM

Other Tech: iPhone 15 Pro Max, Series 6 Apple Watch (LTE), AirPods Max, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox 360

Network Gear:  TP Link Gigabit 24 Port Switch, TP-Link Deco M4 Mesh Wi-Fi, M1 MacMini File & Media Server with 8TB of RAID 1 Storage

Anyway, you are going to have to look for yourself for a used version thanks to the community guidelines. I recommend looking searching 'macbook' on eBay, setting price limit to 160 and look at the 9th result. (watch as I still get in trouble for that) your results might be different tho idk. If you can't find anything newer than a 2008 version, just get a windows laptop imo.

True, upgrading every few months is retarded. My laptop "life" is probably as long as it does what it needs to, so far that has been 5 years (then I upgraded).

Ok I think I found one, late 2009 and decent specs

It's $130 including having to buy a power adapter for it
