Overclocking monitors

crazysteve240

I have a couple of questions about overclocking monitors.

1. Is overclocking monitors dangerous?

2. Will overclocking monitors reduce the lifespan?

3. Will overclocking a monitor increase power draw?

4. Will overclocking monitors increase the chance of getting dead pixels?

No. It's not safe. (at least not perfectly safe)
Yes. You can ruin your monitor.

How risky it is will vary significantly by the quality of the build process and how much you attempt to overclock. There really is no reliable data on the risk however.

I think the "animation glitches" are a good sign you shouldn't be doing it.  I don't think it's worth it as the refresh rate is not boosted to a point where it is noticeable to be worth it.

1. There really isn't a solid answer for that question, as far as i know. Some say yes, some say no. I personally don't think it does.
