2011 compatibility

Quick question:

Do coolers that support lga 2011-3 also support lga 2011? Extra reasoning below:

Might soon be acquiring an x79 motherboard & cpu, I already have an NZXT Kraken x31. On the NZXT website it says it's compatible with 2011-3 but 2011 is not listed, though on the manual it says only 2011 so I'm assuming they are interoperable, but I thought I ought to check.

The only incompatibility is with LGA1366 -> LGA2011.  LGA1366 used M3 threaded mounts whereas 2011 switched to M4.
