Hi, guys, I was looking for a 2.5" HDD to my laptop and found two from Seagate which is the cheapest 1TBs I can find in Denmark.

The first one: Seagate Mobile ST1000LM035

The second one: Seagate Barracuda ST1000LM048

Can you tell me which one is best? There are not that big of a price difference so that doesn't really matter.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say Barracuda, I have experience with these drives, they are reliable, fast, and durable. However they are evenly matched. This is down to personal preference, but if you want an opinion, I say go with the barracuda.

Okay, I have only used WD in my Desktop so don't have any experience with Seagate. And as you said there aren't really and difference except that the "Seagate Mobile" has " Advanced format 512e"

Baracuda has same performance as WD and is x2 cheaper

If storage space is not a concern for you, I would get a SSD actually.

Barracuda. Mobile probably has weaker performance. Next time you want to see which product is better just make your post a vote.

Yeah your probably right about the vote but as it looks from the specs both HDD have the same performance expect that Mobile has something called Advance 512e but don't know what means :/

No tell me! :)

I've replaced several Seagate drives due to bad sectors in computers owned by family friends. Recently just replaced the Samsung Seagate drive that came in my laptop with a 850 EVO because Windows just kept getting corrupted and bluescreening shortly after fresh installs (an install would last literally less than a semester).

The WD Green that I have in my main rig served as my boot drive for 7 years or so up until recently when it was just too damn slow to be used as the sole drive.

That doesn't sound good :/ but still think I'm gonna take the chance cause one 1TB HDD from Seagate already cost 60$ and don't want to spend more money.

It should be fine if it's not the boot drive.

So it's like silicon lottery?

It can be, i've had a 500gb seagate external drive last 8 years with heavy usage and abuse(throwing, dropping, etc. And then I had 1TB wd black have the arm cease sitting in a server rack with less than 200 hours of use. I've had a 4tb seagate fail after little use as well. Hard drives are getting better but they are still risky especially higher capacities some people are superstitious of odd capacity drives 3 and 5tb. I suggest keeping a backup of all your data.
