So, my brother reads a lot of books and is starting to run out of space in his room for books so he recently decided to go the digital way.

The thing is that he just wants something to read books on I checked the Paperwhite kindle out but it's pretty expensive here.

So my question is, is the new Nexus 7 good enough to do a lot of reading? Or will he get tired eyes.

I want to recommend him the nexus device because it gives much more functionality but the main objective is reading.

One other thing, budget is not set yet so give your recommendations.

For a kindle like device, backlight is a must.

Thanks

The Nexus 7 makes an excellent eReader. But it is a tablet. It weighs about 90 gm more than the Paperwhite and its battery will need recharging more often. It's also much more expensive in my neighborhood. But it also much more functional.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I would say yes, it's excellent for reading. i am typing this on mine currently.

If he doesn't want his eyes to hurt so much dim the screen. :P

But yes, it is also heavier of course since it is a tablet, still weighs less than a book though.

And the soft touch back is to die for, super sexy.
