Hello guys,

So I want to get a wifi adapter for my computer as I'm getting sick of running a ugly Ethernet cord across my house to my rig.

So I want to do one of the following.

1) buy one of these cards with a pcie 1x raiser because the slot it partially obstructed by my graphics card

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300Mbps-Wireless-WiFi-PCI-E-...

2) Or buy a router and convert it into a wifi receiver with OPENWRT

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TP-LINK-TL-WR841N-WIRELESS-N...

Both are very similar in price so that doesn't matter, just what I want to know is what one would out perform the other one.

Thanks.

OK, cool. Just checking. I'd keep it simple and try that PCI adapter. It's cheap enough and requires the least config :)

K thanks mate

If you want the best connection always stay wired. WiFi certainly won't improve anything if you're already experiencing slow DL and bad ping.

Ah fair enough! If that's the max speed you should see the same speeds on WiFi and wired.

One of those USB adapters will be even easier, just make sure your PC has USB 3.0/1 so you can actually make use of the speed.

You might be better off getting something with an antenna to help with your signal though, like below.
