help with file naming glitch please

My friend tried to name a folder old games and he got an error saying he cant do that right now and he exited out and this happened

he dragged blade and soul to a new place on the desktop and it threated to replace osu with it because they had the same name so he had to rename it back

how is it possible for them to have the same name
