I was just wondering if this motherboard's m.2 slot is capable of NVME speeds?

This is incorrect. It's wired for PCIe and SATA according to the specs on the site.

NVMe will work fine!

It's referring to only having U.2 support with the add in card. Not the m.2 based cards.

 

The turbo U.2 card is just a pin-for-pin connector change. it doesn't magically add PCIe connectivity to the M.2 slot.

m.2 based NVMe drives will work inside the motherboard just fine.
