I recently installed a zotac gtx 1060 mini into my pc, i have only one fan that came stock with the case, so my gpu temps regularly sit at 82 degrees under load, and around 30 idle. I know the 30 degrees idle is fine, but is the 82C fine or will it cause damage to the gpu? I've tried searching but i get so many conflicting answers, ranging from "OMG 80C UR GPU IS GONNA EXPLODE ))D::" to "gpus should be fine up to 100c". Thanks.

Nvidia GPUs that use GPU Boost (like yours) tend to boost themselves until they hit 82C and then stay there. Nvidia appears to have designed the cards to like running at around 82C, so it will be fine. I've seen about half a dozen GPU Boost 2.0 cards in person doing this, including both my cards (under stock cooling. They run lower temps under water)

If you're hitting 90C, then I would look into manually reducing clock speed or improving the cooling in the case.

anything bellow 85c is fine. Try to improve case airflow if you can.

Alright thanks, it's reassuring to hear i'm not the only one, and i will definitely look into buying some new case fans before the summer.

if you take off the side panel of your case while gaming and your GPU temps drop by 3c or more...you should try to get more fans if possible.

your card is fine. it may seem hot to a human but pc parts are made for temps like that. sure it may shave a very small amount of time  off of its life (miniscule) but it will not harm it. if it was too hot it would ramp up the fans and turn down the clockspeeds to save itself. and considering its the mini, they probably made it with high temps in mind. considering all the bigger cards have those big beefy coolers specifically with temps in mind
