Windows 10 after motherboard change

Hey, I just changed motherboard, and my Win 10 is connected to my Microsoft account. Normally you would go about this routine: http://www.windowscentral.com/how-re-activate-windows-10-after-hardware-change

However, step 6 never appears on my login, it just keeps loading and meets me with "Our servers aren't available. Try again in a few minutes or add your Microsoft-account again". If i log on another account I get the correct pop-up but I can't activate it there though. So how do I proceed, how do I "add my MS-account again"? The Microsoft support guy had no clue what he was talking about. Sat with him an hour or so,

Here's a good resource that explains how licensing works:  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-win_upgrade/will-upgrading-motherboard-after-upgrading-to/a26e93c4-6886-4b44-99cf-7bf49ccba6ee?auth=1

It's possible the license you have is not transferable.
