Looking to buy a new pair of headphones and I've always been attracted to the Sennheiser HD598. However, I was wondering whether or not it would be worth it to get an audio interface. Would it make it sound that much better? My budget is about 180 USD. So I might need to save up if I want to get both at the same time considering the headphones are about $150.

Thank you in advanced for the help.   Also this is what I mean by audio interface - https://www.amazon.com/Focusrite-2i2-GENERATION-USB-Recording/dp/B005OZE9SA/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i1?_encoding=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=PY7TTJ2A2T6T81ZHNDPX&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1cded295-23b4-40b1-8da6-7c1c9eb81d33&pf_rd_i=desktop

the HD598 isn't that hard to drive, so investing in expensive audio equipment won't do any good. you'll hear more of a difference if the source audio is high or low quality

if you really insist, i would try the Schiit fulla 2. it's an amp and DAC in one and is plenty to drive most audiophile-grade headphones

that focusrite 2i2 is only worth it if you got a XLR mic, but maybe give the HD 558 a look, they sound 98% the same, the only difference is a little dip in the mids, but you can just remove a foam pad inside of the HD558 and then they sound 100% the same. I think the pads on the HD598 are a bit nicer.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M
