OPINIONS?? AIO over Normal

Go to solution Solved by atomicus,

AIOs and top end air coolers are basically the same in respect to performance. AIOs have advantages in some case set-ups, high profile RAM etc. but there is a lot of marketing nonsense and consumer misconception over their performance capabilities. It takes 5 minutes of research to see this. Anyone who seriously says they're 'watercooling' and using an AIO deserves as much derision as someone who says they're a 'racer' and has a spoiler on the back of their car! ;)

What does this even mean? Did you want to say AIO vs Air cooler? In that case most high end air coolers and AIO don't differ very much when it comes to average temperatures or price for that matter. Take a H115i which is a Corsair 280mm AIO, It will perform just a few degrees better than the Noctua NH D-15 which is a dual tower air cooler. Both are expensive and both perform really well with the AIO having its pros and cons, same thing for the tower cooler

Can people actually tell me that a AIO is better than a normal static fan. please tell me

Those are two different things, an AIO would be the cooler itself and a static pressure fan is used on the unit are your comparing two coolers or such?

So, when you're talking about a static fan I think you're talking about buying a static fan for an air cooler heat sink. If not, disregard EVERYTHING BELOW!

It's all about money. So say like your normal cheap-o EVO 212 20$ air cooler is good enough right?

But if you're gonna go into 100$ territory for both Air-Cooling and Water Cooling. I will for example take 2 high-performing air/AIO for use.

The DH-D14 vs the Corsair H100. Both are in the 100$ price point.

The DH-D14 will put burden on your CPU socket. The H100 will take up space. But both perform almost identical.

Other contrast is, Air cooler will push hot air into the case. The AIO will push hot air out of the case.

But! BUT! BUTT! Probably the most important thing of all! Now bare with me here! The most important thing of all is bragging rights. You can say that your CPU is liquid/water cooled! Until they find out that you're talking about an AIO.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. next question is, would it be better to a cheap air cooler or an AIO?

Depends what specific coolers you are talking about... it will probably be very much product specific. I would never go cheap AIO though, just not worth it.
