hiiii pc nurds. i need just some clarity, i had some stutters on some games like watchdogs 2 and mafia 3 (the game would freeze for 0.5 sec and then run smooth again). when turning the graphics down a bit from ultra, the stutters do decrease a bit.

oh and my system runs this 2 games at 35/50 fps and yes I've tried v-sync. so this is a bottleneck problem with my cpu  and gpu?

MY SYSTEM :

I3 2100 3.1GHZ 2 Cores 4 threads

Powercolor r9280 duo 3gb

antec 650w psu (this is strong enough)

8gb RAM 1600

thanx alot guys and girls!

My temps are normal, the gpu ranges from 55 to 61 Celsius not sure how many decrease haha...

and the cpu is from 50 to 60 Celsius

it doesn't matter the usage of both hardware, the temperature stays the same.

Stuttering is strange, but it might be that CPU, it's pretty low end at this point

at least Ryzen is around the corner for a cheap upgrade

here's a 280 with an i5

There's not much point in upgrade to a newer 2c/4t CPU

and the G4560 is a better value by far

and you'll want dual channel memory

There is a 11% performance difference, and he can buy a extra stick of ram in the future for 16gb. You don't always need dual channel.

thank you guys!, so you all are recommending atleast an 4 core cpu?

Preferably a Ryzen 5 or 3, but they won't be out for a while it seems sadly

Besides, you throw in a G4560, and you can get 16gbs of pretty fast RAM off the bat, although the motherboard doesn't support that speed I believe.

I'd wait if possible though, as you can overclock any Ryzen chip, and you can overclock on Ryzen's B350 mid range board
