Looking for suggestions

Currently I'm looking to replace my aging 2013 laptop. I'm kind of an SSD virgin so I excited to finally get my hands on one. Currently i'm keeping my budget at ~$1,300 CAD. The laptop will need to be able to stay cool over long durations because lectures are usually 6 hours of programming. With usually games like Overwatch, League, or whatever I feel like playing afterwards. It's really down to MSI or ASUS, all feedback is welcome.

 

My eyes are currently watching

(I've heard the display in this is TN , I like the cooling system MSI has & the M.2 SSD)

$100 more and I'm unfamiliar with ASUS but I have heard their customer support is horrific.

Yeah I was also looking for a laptop like you are, I got told asus are bad for cooling and as you mentioned for customer support.

The msi looks fine to me, This was one on my list as well when I was searching.

I'm leaning for the MSI because of the cheaper price and the cooling. But it's kind of a tossup between SSD and better cooling vs ASUS having 16gb and a 1050 with 4gb VRAM. And any other suggestions I get.
