6700HQs should be fine as you cannot OC it anyway. As long as it doesn't throttle below 3.1 that's fine. I have a 6820HK so i needed to OC the shit out of it and needed lots of fixing.

Hi there , i want to buy a gaming laptop that i will use also for the study of engineering so my idea here is to have a powerful laptop in these days and continue with me for 6 or 7 years in terms of graphics preformance untill it can't run AAA TITLE so at that moment i will use external gpu so the laptop must have a thunderbolt 3 or AW graphics ampilifer .

After months in research i have found some good laptops in the price range 1600 -1800 $ US dollars

1- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M1MYZ0Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487788936&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=alienware15+r3

2 -https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LD4MGSK/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1487789174&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=acer+predator+laptop

3-https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IO9YB8K/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487789055&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=msi%2Bgs63vr&th=1&psc=1

What i want to know

1- if the price difference will get me better cooling system or not ??

2 - which one of these have better

a- cooling system ??

b - battery life ??

note : i was thinking to use asus xg station 2 in the future as egpu but in this video the preformance was downgraded by 30-40 % of the original power of the graphics card

While the alienware graphics amplifier only downgrade 5-10% of the original power of gpu , so my question here too is :

do i get alienware nw as it has better support for egpu or not ??

thanks in advance ?

I will not recommend gtx 1060 laptop (the msi gs63vr) for this price range.
Both laptops are good enough. Choose the one that has the specs you liked.

Both laptops run a bit hot according to user reviews
The slimmer the laptop is the hotter it runs.

Laptop brand doesn't contribute to good/bad cooling. Look for online reviews for a laptop model.

I have the AW15 r3. out of the box, (because I had the first batch), it had the most broken temps i've ever seen because the heatsink was just broken and the thermal pad design was stupid.

They have fixed it now. Emphasis "fixed". Not great, but ustable. But only some. Even on the new machines it's really easy to get a machine with broken temps. So...you can either buy it and RMA it until you get a good one, or you can buy one and fix it yourself.

The Alienware Graphics Amp and the MSI GS30 dock are the only good eGPU solutions at the moment. TB3 is still shit for performance.

if you want performance at all, you can ONLY go MSI or Alienware. TB3 is still shit for performance. Good for adaptability, shit for performance.

I read the ultrabookreview.com's verdict, and it did not mention anything spectacular about cooling. It's not bad and certainly keeps the laptop within reasonable temperatures under load. The Acer has TB3, which is not very good for performance. I have an Alienware Graphics Amp that I use with my 15 R2 although I haven't specifically benched its framerates or anything else. It works spectacularly, though, and Alienware has a wide-ish range of laptops to choose from. including all last-gen laptops, too.

The predator? Fine. But no reason to ever buy it unless heavily discounted. Clevo's better in every aspect. Other brands like aw have certain advantages like eGPU. The predator has none.

Yeah i saw it but not that much of preformance it increases only from 9 to 12 % which is from 4 to 8 fps in each game ????

I already told u. Fix it ur self, or RMA it until u get a decent one. Also Kaby Lake just makes heat issues worse because it's hotter than Skylake.

Still shit. You get far better performance from direct PCIE out like AGA. in addition his increased performance is a result of no more loop back mode. Requires a external display.

I would think that this issue would be a function of the thermal compound on both systems, as a "tock" (still 14nm) is very unlikely to be the sole cause of an 18 degree difference in temperatures. If you'd like, you could go a bit DIY and re-paste the CPU and GPU, although they're not easily accessible. You could go to an electronics repair store, but depending on the cost, it might offset the cost of a 7700HQ.

I just looked on eBay, and 6700HQ models http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-ALIENWARE-15-R3-i7-6700HQ-8GB-1TB-GTX1060-6GB-1080p-FHD-VR-Ready-99WHR-Btry-/232234718164?hash=item36124493d4:g:uk4AAOSwa~BYeAMf are as low as $1,200 Dell refurbished. Directly from Dell, the 7700HQ is right now at $1,400 ($1,500+ with taxes). $300 for a heatsink re-paste is most certainly not what most places would charge.

Summary: Buy the Skylake one and, if temperatures be a problem, re-paste it either yourself or by a professional. Save more money for the GA and/or a GPU.

Side note: Do you want nVidia or AMD? 15s on eBay have either a 1060 or RX 470.
