Hi Experts

I am about to buy i3-7320 & ASRock H110M-STX

i wanted you experts to confirm that if i buy a 2400Mhz RAM, will i really have this speed or 2133Mhz??

Can you please suggest whether speeds of RAM is based on CPU's or MOBO's or Combination of Both?

The motherboard natively supports up to 2133Mhz so if you wanted more you would need to overclock the RAM in simple terms, but generally it won't make a difference to the system. For RAM as its been the norm go with what you think looks good and fits within your budget.

i am surprising..

when intel specifies that 7th gen i3-7320 is capable of 2400 mhz

and ASRock H110m-STX board specifies that this board can produce 2400mhz when 7th gen intel is used..

i am buying 2400mhz RAM

why do it is required to overclock??

The board only specifies it's rated up to 2133MHz not 2400Mhz. As long as the RAM supports XMP profiles you can easily set it up, overclocked to 2400MHz.

That is just native to the CPU as they are capable of running that straight off the bat, but the motherboard as it is will post at a default of 2133MHz. So you will need to enable XMP profiles it set it so it overclock to the rated 2400MHz.
