I have been waiting to upgrade my CPU to something better because i feel like i am experiencing a bottleneck as of right now, I currently have a AMD A10-7850k and i have had no issues but i want a CPU that can handle more, should I get a RYZEN? or perhaps i should try out intel next. I currently have 16 gb of ram a GTX1060 for one screen and a 750ti for my secondary screen.(It might just be the fact that i have two different gpus in my system but i cant be certain)

Whenever i play CPU heavy games for example when i play battlefield 1 i have to lower the settings by a large amount and i have to lower quite a number of sliders for it to run properly also when i play overwatch i get some major frame drops in high intensity firefights

Wait why do you have 2 different GPUs for each monitor? I thought they didn't work like that?

It does. You have to connect each graphics card to a monitor. He has two graphics card in his rig and they are set up to separate monitors.

I think you should get Ryzen. Wait for Ryzen 3 & Ryzen 5 to release first though.

Hmmmmm so just to be clear how much of a difference is there between my current cpu and the ryzen series, the clocking speed seems pretty similar, my knowledge beyond that is very limited

Even though clock speeds may be similar that doesn't mean core performance is. For example (Intel) let's say the i7-6700K and i7-7700K were both clocked at 4.0 GHz. The i7-7700K would be better slightly because it is better optimized than the i7-6700K. Now over the generations of CPU the difference in single core performance will show. I don't know when your chip was released but I'm sure Ryzen 7 will be better because it is a new architecture and because it is on par with Intel's higher end CPUs such as the i7-6800K, i7-6850K, and the i7-6900K. It is also half the price. If you were to match a Ryzen 7 1800X with one of the new Vega cards that AMD is going to release soon hopefully then I'm sure you'll have one hell of a gaming rig for about half of what it would cost to make the same using Intel. There are other things that give CPUs it's performance like L3 Cache and hyper-theading which all AMD Ryzen 7 are hyper-threaded even though it says that they aren't on PCPP and they all have 8x2MB L3 Cache. If I was a professional then my professional advice would be to go for the horizon and buy Ryzen (I'm sorry for that) and match it with one of their Vega cards when they release. You could also wait for YouTubers to benchmark them which is always good for getting an idea for how good a CPU is.
