I understand that ddr4 and ddr3 are different, I'll be going for the newer ddr4 of course. I also know what the speed means (ex. DDR4 3200), 3200 being the speed. The socket seems to be standard (288 pin) across RAM. What I  dont understand is the pc3 and pc4 numbers (ex. ddr4 3200 (PC4 28800)). 

288 pin is the standard right?
