Hey Guys,

Is it possible to take my current tower boot Drive (an SSD) out of my PC and install it in my old Laptop (also has a 2,5" drive) just to test how much it would boost up my laptop?

after testing i want to put it back into my tower, is all that possible without Dataloss or reinstalling anything?

Thanks for answering :)

That is possible

And you won't loose any data (if you safely shut down the PC)

Then on the laptop go to the boot menu (usually a Fn Key, look the brand up and see what it is)

And then select the drive

Done!

Is it really that simple? I don't think I've ever used that method before.

Most likely not. You get bunch of problems like drivers and activation stuff. But you can try.

What are you talking about?

Ever heard of USB boot drives?

if you're running windows 10, like I was, I change my motherboard and cpu from a dead i3 to an 8350 Windows just updated its drivers and it worked fine.
