Hey, So my motherboard died the other day and im getting a new one. My windows 7 copy on my HDD was a OEM copy so it was bonded to my motherboard. If i get a new motherboard what do I do? Do I need a new copy of windows? Will it link to my new motherboard or what. If not how do I format my HDD and install windows 8 to it? I need 100% correct answers if possible thanks!

Nope. You can install the same key and it will work. At most you have to call Microsoft and activate it via a robot.

OEM are not bound to your motherboard.
You current install will work with you new motherboard at 1st but you will to re-install so just install the motherboard back up anything and use a program to you the CD-key for your Win7 then re-install everything.

My PC is busted will not display anything on the screen let alone get on to windows, The only time I will get onto it is when Im in the BIOS and my new MB is installed.

Yes windows will work when you install the new motherboard it will just be buggy and wont have any of the drivers so things like Internet wont work.

you will have to wait till you get your new motherboard.

sorry I cant help any further right now I have to go to bed its 4:20 but there are other people who will be glad to help you @Bradley99
