Corsair K95 RGB backlight problems

It happens. occasionally, there is a defective product and it has to be sent in. If it's 3 weeks old then you definitely will get it fixed. If it's under warranty, don't try to fix it yourself. (Although I should really follow my own advice about that because I always void warranties when something goes wrong)

Also does not work any better on old CUE. Anyone know where I can get an old firmware image just in case that caused the problem?

Don't upgrade your firmware unless you are having problems. (Again, I should really follow this advice because I have bricked so many of my electronics but luckily, I have the equipment to fix it which I wouldn't need if I followed this tip) If it started happening immediately after the firmware update, then that might be what caused it. Send it in for an RMA.

I recently purchased a K95 RGB keyboard and have been more than happy with it. A few days ago, just after updating CUE to version 2.10.71, I noticed that the letter "F" was light blue. The profile I was using at the time set all the typing keys to white. Upon further experimentation, it seems like the red LED in the "F" key is broken/disabled. Any way to fix this using the software? Is it a glitch in the new CUE? I have already tried reinstalling CUE and force updating firmware. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Are you able to downgrade to the previous version of cue? Also, make a new profile in cue that only affects the F key to make sure it isn't the profile configured incorrectly.

Yep it behaves the same when using a profile with just the F key. Will try with CUE1 and get back to you.

I would start with isolating the f key and perhaps the keys around it to make sure it can show Red/Green/Blue properly. There is the possibility that one of the coloured LEDs broke or burned out, which means the key would have to be replaced.

Of course if it works with a previous version and not the new one, that could be a bug in the software and you could call Corsair for help.  As suggested, perhaps deleting the profile and recreating it might help.

Anyway try and isolate that F key and perhaps the ones around it to make sure all the LEDs R G B work properly.

So if it doesn't work on previous Cue. one of the LEDs went boom and you need to contact Corsair.

Keyboard does not work any better on old CUE. Anyone know where I can get an old firmware image just in case that caused the problem?

Seems like I have had to RMA my whole setup now. First my case, then SSD, now keyboard.

Thanks for the help anyways @AA-RonRosen and @brighttail.

No problem. That's some bad luck with all that failing on you at once. What happened that  required your case to be sent in for an RMA though? Just curious because I don't really see what could happen to your case

Defective audio jack that shorted out USB bus and let out the "magic blue smoke". Anything that can go wrong will go wrong with me. It did not all fail at once though. All within 3 months.

if it is only 3 weeks old can you take it back to where you bought it from and get a replacement?  I know some stores do only 14 day returns but many do at least 30 days.  I'd try to take it back to where you bought it first if you can.

Dang, That's bad luck. Also, is that a challenge? I bet I can think of one thing that isn't gonna go wrong.

Bought it from Newegg, their returns process is a pain. Probbably better off contacting Corsair.
