Hi,

I want to buy a desktop that will (hopefully) be able to perform amazingly for at least the next 4 years.

Specifically, I want to buy one to play a game called Star Citizen at max settings.

I already have all my peripherals so I just want some suggestions for the tower.

If need be you can also suggest a bunch of different components for me to buy and I can build one myself if that is a better value.

In terms of spending power I'm thinking around $2,000, +/- 500 if need be.

Thanks in advance,

Ankerr

Are you sureeeeeeee you don't want to build it? No? Okay, I won't criticize you. Well, go on iBuyPower and configure one that works for you. At that budget, I can confidently say that you can afford a GTX 1080 and i7 7700k, although I would wait for Ryzen to launch before you jump the gun.

I can agree but some people are die hard fans of certain companies.

no need to bring it up if they truly are they will state it in the OG post.

It's unrealistic for a PC to last for 4 years without upgrading. I would get the what meets your needs now and don't spend extra on "futureproofing".
