Mic Problem

So I have built my 1st computer last week and everything is working but mic. I have Z170A M7 Gaming motherboard and installed recomended audio driver. I am getting sound perfectly but my mic is capturing quitly and only parts of wods. I have tried pluging right to the motherboard and the mic is still the same. Also tryed another mic and still the same. I have incresed the volume of capture but still even when I have it 6cm away it just does not capture... and when it does the words are lagging or something. Part is load part is not heard at all... Tryed uninstaling drivers and istalling again ... did not work... Any ideas?
