Need CPU for Gaming/Video Rendering

should I get an AMD or intel cpu?

I have a budget of 600 bucks (preferably 300-500) and with all the commotion going on I have no clue what the hell I should get so please enlighten me.

Ryzen comes out in ~2weeks

Intel's current high end gaming CPU is the 7700k, which is a good value for the money at the moment, but it may be beaten by Ryzen.

oh yea, I intend to do 4k gamming in ultra settings render 3D stuff and possibly do music and content creation.

Ryzen 1800X or release highest proc is probably best for that purpose.

With what we can see of Ryzen's FPU performance so far (with the FPU being extremely important if your playing games or doing CAD), you'd be better off at the very least getting a 7700K,

If you had a higher budget, I'd say just get Intel, but because your budget is so low wait for Ryzen.
