Hi Guys,

Good day, I'm finalizing my build. Thoughts?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

CPU : Intel i7 4771 (3.5 ~ 3.9Ghz)

MoBo : Asus Maximus VI Hero

GPU : Asus GTX 780 DirectCUII (or GTX 780 Ti)

PSU : Corsair RM 750w

HDD : (1) 1Tb WDC Black and (1) WDC Green 3Tb

RAM : Corsair Vengeance 16Gb 1600Mhz Quad / Dual Channel (4x4Gb)

Monitor : LG 23EA63V (Single 1080P setup)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'll use it in both gaming and editing.

I don't overclock; As soon as it can run modern games stable at 60 fps then it's fine.

Let me know if there's a compatibility issue.

I'm open to suggestion / advice for a better components.

Thanks in advance !

So your CPU should be a 4770k (not sure it typo).

Apart from that looks good.

I'd go for the 3GB Green drive, and if you can afford an SSD, get one of them too to boot and run main applications off of.

If not, get the black drive.

Definately go for the 780Ti if you can afford it :)

Hope this helps

Get a 4770k if your going with that board...If your not OCing get a cheaper board absolutely no point, also you dont have to OC a 4770k

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

I would still think about "k" version due to it would be great factor if you ever planned to sell the CPU in the future. Non "k" arent going to sell in the future as good as unlocked ones.

Also like said - SSD as OS drive, programs and games and 3TB as storage one would be a good idea.

All looks good to me. Do you need all the features on a VI Hero? Go the Ti of you can.

Wouldn't be too concerned about an unlocked multiplier unless you really want to overclock. Even then though, my 3770 is OC'd to 4.3ghz with the base clock.

No typo. :) Here's the CPU link - http://ark.intel.com/products/77656/

Sure, please suggest a good board for 4771 and for my quad/dual channel 16Gb RAM. :)

Also, the reason why I chose 4771 is because it's $30 cheaper and i'm not going to OC since i'm only going to use a single 1080P monitor, but I might consider the "K" CPU.

Thanks guys for the suggestion. ;)

There is no thing as a 4771?

wait what? What is the difference between this and a 4770/4770k?

4770 multiplier is locked (not sure what to). 4770k, it's unlocked.

4770k's tend to have to go through a stricter binning process too

4770k

get 780ti, it's not much more expensive than a DCU2 780 and will wipe the floor with it performance wise

Yes, unfortunately here the GTX 780 DCU2 costs $830, still expensive even after the price-cut. :(

So i'm guessing the 780 Ti will cost around $850~$950 here.

Should I go for GTX 770 or R9 280X or lesser card ?

I only want a stable 60 fps on a 1080P monitor. :)

Get a 780 over either one of those two cards.

R9-290X /290 if you want similar performance to the 780
