Will an core i3 7100 fit Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H-WP ? and is it worth it to upgrade from core i3 6098p ?

It will fit, but you will most likely need a BIOS update for it to work properly (if at all!)

Anyways, you would download the latest BIOS version from Gigabyte's website, put it on a USB stick, go into your motherboard's BIOS, go to "flash BIOS" or something like that, and go from there.

Well it's more of a "You have to" than "is it worth it".

 

If you don't have a bios that supports it the PC wont start with the new CPU.

Well, it's not worth buying it, then having to go through the trouble of needing (maybe) another CPU to do a BIOS update, and so on and so forth.

It will fit anything that matches the socket, which in this case is 1151. So any 6xxx or 7xxx series Intel CPU will work. You will need a BIOS update for the 7xxx series.
