TWC vs Spectrum

Hi I was wondering if TWC's change to Spectrum will change internet speeds because my friend said he called TWC and asked to switch to Spectrum(sounds like bs to m since its the same company) and his speeds got doubled for free(don't believe him here either). I was just wondering if this is actually the case or not.

I used to have TWC and it switched and I don't notice anything.

Spectrum is the name of Charter's internet, the company that bought TWC. Your speed may not change, but Charter doesn't have data caps, at least where I live.

neither does TWC. TWC is just slow af with high ping at least for me.

The highest ping I see when I play Rocket League, for example, is about 40ms. Other times it can get lower than that just as long as I'm on a good server and the planets are aligned.

the most i have had is about 1000ms when they decided that our new modem/access point was bad and cut off our internet and gave us one of their routers witch had a max of 10kbps until we could get a new modem.

You should have them check the cables going from their main line to your home. We had a similar issue and ended up finding a fault somewhere between their main line and ours.

it seems to work fine with our new modem but it should have with the first one also
