Pc crashes when gpu usage is increased.

Hello, a friend of mine wants to upgrade his gpu and he is considering buying mine so we installed it on his pc and it keeps crashing while gaming. When it crashes there is no bsod but it says that there is no signal.
We used furmark to see if it would do it again and it did.
We underclocked it and it was stable.
Power draw while fully underclocked was ~180 Watts and while normal ~230 Watts (power draw of the whole system)
So we increased the power limit from -20% to -15% and it crashed again.. 
We noticed that it would crash while drawing about 190 Watts. With his card it would never go beyond 190 Watts it would sit around 160W to 180W.

Im almost certain its the psus' fault but i want to be sure so im asking here...
The psu was bought about a year ago.

Pc specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k - 3.40GHz
MOBO: Asus P8H61-M LE R2.0
RAM: G.Skill 6GB
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX650 Ti 2GB OC (Rev 1.0)
PSU: CoolerMaster B500 Ver.2
HDD: 1TB WD C.Blue
SSD: 120GB Kingston

And my card is R9270X-DC2T-2GD5

So should he send it back to get it checked?

get a new psu, sounds like your psu can't deliver enough power.

But i should be able to draw ~500 Watts not 200...

Sounds to me like the PSU. It shouldn't have failed after only a year, but it seems like it has.

get a new psu, caps fail.

The warranty is still in effect so he'll probably just send it back.. We just wanted to make sure nothing else was causing the problem. Thanks.

Send the PSU to the company your purchased it from, the warrenty should still be good. Just NEVER try to fix a PSU yourself you could literally die from the capcitors.

He will but we will try it on my pc first to see if it will act the same just to eliminate all doubts.
