Hi,

I just built a system, it boots up, GPU fan spins, but nothing on the screen. I check all of the connections, and for bent pins, Etc, I have a i5 7500 with a ASUS H270-PLUS. Could it be CPU error? Would the GPU even stay on/turn on if the CPU or RAM was at fault?  I changed out the ram, still, nothing, I have EVGA 2400Mhz SC ram. I'm lost on what to do!

Does it beep when you boot it? Beeps are usually indicators of a failed boot, and the beeps help identify what failed. If there are no beeps, and it would beep if there is no ram at all then the issue is likely between the monitor and the gpu. Also try connecting your monitor to the motherboard instead of the gpu and see if that gets anything on screen.

I also tried going through motherboard, nothing. Can i try the ram in a different system? The other one has a i7 4790k. Think it would work if the ram was operational?

Have you got the 8-pin in? Not having CPU power generall leads to the GPU+case fans coming on and stuff lighting up

I'm creating confusion, I have my own system with a 4790k, I'm building ANOTHER system for someone else, it has a i5 7500...

Oh right I see. Have you checked all the motherboard connectors?

H270-PLUS, this is my 2nd motherboard i tried with.

Ok, my bad it does come with the case but sometimes not. If you plug in headphones to the front connectors of the case, or maybe the ones on the back of the board when booting do you get beeps?

Yes, everything is in, I'm not sure what it could be.

My recommendation is to :

1. Remove gpu.  If mb doesn't boot without it, it certainly wont boot with it.  This will remove it from being the problem.

2. Ram may have compatibility issues with mb.  Try moving it to a different slot, swapping it with the other chip to see if maybe 1 memory stick is bad.

3. Start over.  Remove mb from case and start over, verifying each component as you add it to the case.  Is power supply new?

Also, and this may sound stupid but, make sure your monitor is powered on...

It is! Do you possible think this is CPU error? And what i I used my DDR3 ram to see if it will post? Or Used the DDR4 and put it into my system, I know it can down-clock it

DDR3 is not pin compatible with DDR4. In my experience I rarely see a CPU error.
