I want to get a proper pc gaming heaphone/headset, but I would also like to use it on the side for my iphone as well when I travel.

Originally I wanted to get the Corsair Void Wireless, which is not only super comfy but has great sound (7.1 dolby). Only con is it has a big mic sticking out of it, so not really a multi-purpose headphone..

Any suggestions?

What's the budget for the headphones? And you are looking for some with detachable microphone, right?

EDIT: If you havea nice budget for the headphone you should try some Thermaltake headphones like these: http://www.ttesports.com/productpage.aspx?p=21&g=ftr#.WJpJWjuGPcs

You can use them as normal headphones, or you could also attach the controller or the microphone to them and make them as long as a charger from '70s.

Don't fall for the 7.1 digital. A nice pair of stereo headphones will do better than the best emulated surround in both gaming and music.

If you don't want noise leaking, check out the Status Audio CB-1 which pairs nicely with the V-MODA Boompro. If you don't mind open back headphones, I would go for the HD558/HD598 + 2.5mm-3.5mm adapter + V-MODA Boompro. HD518 if you are capped at the $100 price point, but these are hard to find. I was only able to find it at a physical fry's location.

Given the good sound quality and comfort i would say the hyperx cloud/cloud 2s. The mic is detachable so they are good for on the go as well.
