Hi everyone,

i am currently planing to build my first PC sometime this year (as soon as i have enough money), because i'm tired of the poor performance of my PS4 and the bs sony is pulling (mainly PSPlus fees).

My Budget is around 1500€, my location is Germany so prices are quite high.

This system will mostly be used for Gaming, but also some University work like programming and numerical simulation, so CPU performance is needed but not the main focus.

I plan to overclock as much as possible, hence the Genome case.

This build is an idea that i really like: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/b2mKGf

Any suggestions? When RyZen and Vega launch i might change the i5 and the gtx 1070 for the price or performance equivalent, depending on which is better for my needs.

I know it's very RGB heavy but i like RGB so please no comments on replacing the RGB stuff, i know some of the parts are more expensive than the non-RGB variants but for me they would be worth the extra cost.

I alredy have all the peripherals since i type alot so a mechanical keyboard is a must for me and i got the mouse really cheap, the monitor is currently used as my workscreen at home with my laptop.

Update:

I accidentaly included a 1060 for the price of the 1070 i wanted, since pcpartpicker didn't have the price, this is the current part list:

Ehh. The GTX 1060 you listed is 400€. Check the price again before buying, since normal price of a GTX 1060 is 250€.

Oh i clicked the wron one, it's a 1070, i had to manualy enter the price since pcpartpicker didn't have the KFA 1070, i'm gonna fix that

I have never heard of that power supply company. Do they have Cosair is Germany?

BitFenix is a moderately reputable company, it won't blow up but there's definitely better PSUs out there

Use this tier list, try to get something from Tier 1

But the Whisper is tier 1, isn't it? i know the fury was trash but they fixed alot of the issues with the whisper, while maintaining a relatively cheap price, this is why i chose this one

I dunno, if it's Tier 1 you're good.

I was mostly just addressing the brand question from the other guy

My question is, are you going for a certain theme, cause over time that will bug you, cause i see the peripherals you got are blue, but the fan you have are red

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

The Fans are RGB, only the product picture is red, and on the headphones the blue is minimal, and they won't be stored next to the PC most likely

I haven't bought anything yet, i only know how much money i want to and can potentialy spend after saving up for 3-6 more months. I really like the look of the kraken x62 but here in germany for the same money of the kraken and case you get the genome case and i prefer the look of that compared to the elite. Maybe i'll cut down on the RAM (use a non-RGB kit) but swap in the motherboard, that looks awesome. An ssd only system is not an Option for me because i need tons of storrage for University so i'll probably keep the 128gb NVMe/2tb hdd setup that i have in the parts list. But thanks for the tips, i will probably tweak my list, as i said it's my first build so any tips are welcome

Thanks, RyZen and Vega will probably get me to change everything but hey if i save money or get more performance for the same money i'm not complaining, at least i have a build i would be happy with if RyZen and Vega are not for my needs

It's the deepcool genome 2, it's a case with an integrated 360mm AiO Liquid cooler, hence the high price (about as much as a kraken x62 and NZXT s340 Elite combined)

Not sure you'll need it but go ahead if you think it'll be worth your money.
