Consumer virtual envirement?

Hi guys,

 

I want to have a virtual client so that I can log onto my pc trough teamviewer when im not at home. But I dont want to keep my laptop 24/7 online. Is there a way to have a windows OS running in a browser? Having its own IP etc. 

Which methods can I use?

Can you elaborate more on exactly what you are trying to do?

 

If you have laptop at home, it does need to either a) be on or b) be enabled to be turned on remotely (which takes some slightly fancy networking skillz - but not that much) - either way you NEED atleast one "always on" device in your home network (might be a router / switch or NAS though, dont need to be a PC).

 

Do you need to "run" on your home PC - or is it just some type of data you need from the laptop?

@RotterdamsNo. If you want access to a machine without having yours turned on then rent a dedicated server.

So for example...im at work and i want to go view my laptop at home. I want to do this using teamviewer.

 

BUT I dont want my laptop to be 24/7 online at home. Is there a way that I can have a virtual windows envirement where i can log in and to my private stuff ?

 

I dont need the data of my home laptop. I just want a different windows envirement where i can save stuff etc.

What stuff do you need access to?

 

Documents/images/music/movies etc? Dropbox/Onedrive/NAS is the answer.

Applications? Either enable wake on lan (difficult to impossible on a laptop) or get a dedicated.

I want to be able to run games or programs AFK. And I thought...its 2017 why do I need to have my laptop at home turned on 24/7 for this?

Thats why I want "online" ways to enter a windows session. Instead of using teamviewer that I can go to a website and enter a windows session from there...idk really lol

 

the easiest solution is dedicated servers but i wonder if there are other ways to do this free. I am not running a company or anything so that would be a bit of overkill.

youre not going to get it for free, not for anything thats anywhere near reliable this compay basically gives you a gaming class pc so hell if you wanted to you could get your overwatch on

for what you want its only $15 a month like you say depends if your electricity is higher for leaving your laptop on
