Computer for AutoDesk suite

sandals100

Hi all,

I've been out of the computer scene for a long time now and have fallen behind in the current technologies. I am seeking a little bit of advice as to the parts I should be using for a computer I am building for my dad.

1. Budget & Location

My budget for this is between $500 - $1000 AUD. I am located in Brisbane, Australia. I have a variety of stores to choose from most of which are listed on PCPARTPICKER.

2. Aim

This comptuer will be used stricly for professional use. Mainly with the Autodesk suite (Autocad and revit) and general web browsing. The end goal of the computer should be able to render revit drawings without an issue as the current laptop my dad uses is not doing the job.

3. Monitors

One 1080p monitor. However I believe that Autodesk benefits more from the NVidia cards as opposed to AMD (not sure about this)

4. Peripherals

None.

EDIT:

After doing some searching of my own I have compiled the following. ALSO if the cost of a graphics card cannot be added without the computer going over budget then I will donate my current card to the system which will take that cost out.

Did you take a look at this. I believe hardware (GPU) for AutoCad is still recommended that it be certified.

I saw that however those cards are very expensive. My current computer (the one in my sig) runs the programs just fine with the gpu however to build an identical system is almost impossible for that budget.

I would invest in an i5 or i7 (depending on how complex the models will be) and a green GPU with a good amount of VRAM (core itself doesn't matter much).

@ARikozuM @deXxterlab97

I can source those two parts from a different site with some better brand names and products. My main concern was the rest of the hardware, if that is all good then my question is solved.

Change the PSU imo, grab a 300W or 350W from Seasonic :)

Or preferably a Corsair SF450 but those are expensive

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here
