my computer is connected to the internet via the Ethernet cable and my internet service provider is verizon fios and i have the 100 mbps package and my videos keep buffering and keep switching to a lower resolution, why is this?

 

sys build: i7 6850k aio water cooled, 64gb cosair ram, 400gb intel pcie ssd, 4tb hybird hardrive, gtx 1080 aio water cooled

I've had an unstable OC cause this before, oddly enough. Sometimes the audio for the video would play in the background, but the video would freeze up and have whatever buffering symbol the site had.

 

It can depend on a lot of things, though. You can check your own availbile bandwidth at speedtest.net. If it's Youtube, you can test their bandwidth by right clicking on a video and hitting "statsfornerds".
