Hello all!

My first post. The reason I am here, is I have a question I can not find the answer to anywhere.

If I buy the VG248QE today, when it comes time to upgrade, will it be as simple as opening the monitor up, replacing/adding a card, and putting it all back together, or will there be soldering involved?

I suspect due to NVidia's marketing material, that it's just a card you plug in, but I can not get conformation from Asus. The only thing that makes me concerned, is I noticed NVidia changed the text on the G-Sync page. It used to say you can do it yourself with the DYI kit, but not it says it can be done by a professional.

Anyone have any idea if it's relatively easy?

I dont think it will be literally unplugging a card and putting a new one in (but it might be) but I definatley think it will be easy enough for the average system builder to do it.

What I want to know is what is that monitor actually like? I hear the image quality is bad so I am hesitant to buy it.

I doubt that it won't come without an expense. The G-Sync PCB control module

I have not heard anything about poor image quality. Just less then optimal color reproduction, as it's a TN panel.

I consider color reproduction as a subcategory of image quality :P
