Just a little poll about video cards. :)

My Pc: Cpu: I7 4790k @ 4,8 Ghz @1,25 volts, Motherboard: Maximus VII Formula, Graphicscard: 2x Titan X @1,4 at stock voltage (soon to be replaced), Ram: 32 gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 Cl 9, SSD: 2x 850 Pro 1 Tb in Raid 0, 2x Samsung 840 Evo 1 tb raid 1,, PSU: Corsair HXi Series 1000W 80+ Platinum, Case: H440. Soon to be watercooled again, maybe, probably, the Titans are too loud.

Woop woop! :D  I just like high performance cards :P  Really want to see what Mantle can do though, it's the only thing stopping me from buying a new GPU.

7870 wil prob see some improvements from without mantle too with mantle (bf4 and such)

It should but I'm planning on upgrading soon, either to a 780ti or 290X.  BF4 is the main game I play so I'll be looking for the best performance in that along with a few others.  Just waiting to see what Mantle can do before I make the purchase.

I need to be honest.

I lean towards Intel/Nvidia. I am not an AMD hater. I am building an AMD system. I am probably going to use it for a few side tasks like folding and such. But, for my main machine, I'd like to have something as powerful as it can be for what I do. Photoshop, gaming, etc. Sure, AMD offers a better value. But, G-Sync, Shield Streaming, CUDA, PhysX and a few other things such as the far superior coolers and somewhat better high end solutions, I choose Nvidia. As for processors, seeing as AMD's top tier processor is as powerful as an i5, I'll pass.

Don't get me wrong. I like AMD. They make awesome graphics cards and processors, but they aren't taking competition seriously. They constantly shoot themselves in the feet. R9 290 as powerful as 290X for $150 less, a 95C thermal design, terrible reference cooler, etc.

I don't get your 780ti vs 7990 comparison. The 780ti is s single GPU that is performs as well if not better than the 7990 which is double gpu with all the issues that stem from that.

As for me I lean toward Nvidia right now because I think I value G-Sync a lot more than I want mantle. That is purely from a features perspective since I feel their cards perform close enough to each other where you can't say "My card is better than yours in EVERY situation" (of course talking at the cards in their respective price points not 780 vs r7 260). If Nvidia were to allow AMD to use G-Sync I would buy AMD every time and if AMD gave Nvidia mantle I would keep buying them every time. Which is why neither of the companies will do that.

normally for the final question of the poll, I would say "Performance"... but it's been my experience that quality drivers are very important.   Some companies are better with their drivers and the UI for setup... and that "software/driver quality", along with "performance" are my deciding factors

*good poll by the way.

why r9 290x vrs 780ti, they arnt not on the same playing field. 780ti beats it in preformace but 290x is like $300 cheaper

It's not about performance it's about price to performance. And what one would pick.

they are not in the same league. 780ti is a flagship nvidia with no equal. 290x vs 780 would be a better comparison.

Every card has features and price to performance is a feature.

I chose AMD up until the 780ti vs. 7990.

Performance is most important, but so is price:performance. Right now if there were 3rd party coolers for the 290/290x, they would be top dog, no matter what, but I'd go with a 780 right now if I could.

$300-$400 is my price range, anything more it's stretching it. Also single GPU is better than dual GPU, but that's my opinion.
